I just love how in every contemporary novel, the Christian character MUST be uptight, holier than thou, self-hating, a product of their oppressive upbringing. Sam is a Southern Baptist but says he “stops taking the sacrament” after having premarital? C’mon, Lily King. I’m trying to enjoy this book but finding it hard.
