Chapter 3 was about forces of destruction - Grimm's law, breakdown of cases, evolution of negation, etc. Chapter 4 discussed at length the extent to which the usage of words has gone from their concrete meanings to abstract generalizations. Chapter 5 threw light on how creative forces go hand in hand with erosion to continuously make words shorter -> join short words together -> simplify pronunciation -> repeat
