The stunning cover is the best thing about this book. And I can check off another prompt in my book challenge.

The dialogue feels very clunky and, at times, quite preachy. I feel like I’m constantly being told what’s going on in the dialogue instead of the information just flowing along. It just feels quite amateurish. This on top of the other issues just makes this book not entirely a pleasant read.

Nope. I’m not enjoying this book. It’s all too easy. And it still feels like a children’s adventure book written for adults. And not in a good way. I can’t really explain it.

There are bits in this book that I’m enjoying but, for the most part, I’m not thinking much of this one. I can’t quite put my finger on what is wrong with it.

The best thing about this book so far is all the references to books I’ve actually read and enjoyed. I know this is an adult book but it’s childlike magic bookshop throws me a bit.

Yet another recent book written in multiple persons. I’m getting a bit tired it. I’m going to have to read some older books.
