I find it hard to describe my feelings about this book so far, perhaps the right phrase is it’s good because it’s so bad. I feel like Nabokov writing is super intense and personal. He makes his main character so uncomfortably disgusting, an adult man justifying his crimes against a child and trying to convince me (the reader) that he’s the victim ? Doesn’t get much worse than that 😅
