During his reflections on his diving into philosophy and wisdom literature. He starts to reflect on how God called the Gentiles into his inheritance and how Augustine is part of that group of Gentiles. He even compares the fruitful wisdom that he gleaned from the pagan philosophers to the gold that the Israelites took from Egypt because the gold like the fruitful wisdom from the pagans belongs to God anyway.
