So far, it reads well, but sounds highly unnatural. The characters don’t sound like themselves, but rather what the writer thinks they should sound like. For example, Tessa’s internal monologue doesn’t present as the internal monologue of a teenage girl in the modern day. Instead, her internal monologue sounds like an old southern woman living in the 1940s. Curious to see how the story will shape up overall.
