Atp of the book Fanli and Xishi were separated. But I didn’t feel the intensity of how harsh the separation was for them. Xishi started going through her memories of them together, and I didn’t sympathize with her because ig previously in the book none of the moments she talked about was described in depth. To me it seemed like their connection was there but hasn’t deepened yet

This is a bit different from the usual ann liang books. But I’m loving it!! I’ve been in a reading slump for the longest time and this book is sure helping me get out of it. It reminds me of the YA fantasy books that were extremely popular a few years ago. I haven’t read such genre in a while and I did miss it. Will update more as I continue!!
