I’ve been putting off reading this book because I watched the tv show 1st and I find that can ruin books for me. But now the show has been cancelled so I’m gonna give it a whirl.
I’m also a little worried because the author died before the series was completed and another author finished it.

Loved the tv series (though I still have to watch s3)! I was bummed when it was canceled. It drove me to read the first two books as well haha. Hope you enjoy it as much as the show!

You never got through all the books though?
I liked them, but I couldn't deeply get into them. The overall story, world, and magic system are so interesting. But, I don't know if I was in the right mood for that kind of fantasy read. I'd kind of like to go back and try them again! Hope they connect for you, looking forward to hearing your thoughts! =)
I hear that. I worry after watching the show that will be an issue. Knowing what all the big events will be can kinda ruins books for me sometimes. And these are big books so it’s a lot to take on with already knowing the story. I’m hoping I enjoy them enough to read them all. I love a well written long series. Something to get lost in.
Oh yeah, depending on the book/show that can definitely ruin the book sometimes. I will say, from what I remember (its been a few years) the book and the show do differ a good bit. It might be enough not to ruin it for you, hopefully! I so agree, finding a truly good series to get lost in is the best feeling! I hope this series can be one of those for you!
