Twitter unsuspended me & now won't let me delete my account.
WORST social for readers. Sure, you get access to Big Name authors & Publishers & whatnot, but their accounts are ALL PUBLICITY. Most don't use theirs only for books, there's politics everywhere in "book accounts."
If I wanted politics, I'd follow you from my personal account.
Thus endeth Marquise's adventures in trying to be an internet celebrity. :P

Never been on it, so I wouldn't know. Seems like that's perhaps a good thing :)

The timeline:
- I still have no idea why they suspended me in the first place.
- I contested the suspension, and won, but I shoulda have let them keep me suspended for eternity. Not worth the fight.
- Everyone talks politics, Trump, Indians, politics, Trump, more Indians, music, more politics... Where are the books?!
- I call it quits.
- I can't delete the account because I get an error, error, something wrong, error, sumthin' 'rong, 'rooorrr... every time I try.
I only wanted frens and talk bookses and share my niche reviews and get an audience. *sobs*
Sounds like that can indeed cause a headache. Luckily there are other places where you can find an audience, my friend. Goodreads is one of them.
With my prior experience with Twitter experience myself, I can say my opinion of them is very poor. In short, they suck. Sorry you are having to deal with this Marquise😒

I very specifically looked only for books and author accounts and publisher accounts, and followed a few that looked good and i already know, but . . . why the Hell do they keep pushing 'Follow Elon' stuff on me? What do I have to do with the chap? 😒 And who cares about Trump? I'm not in America yet. 😒
And even though I specified in 'Interests' that I only want books, the algo kept pushing politics on me because a few of the authors I was checking follow politics, so the stupid algo must think I'm interested too. 😒
/rant over.
Thibault wrote: "Luckily there are other places where you can find an audience, my friend. Goodreads is one of them."I'm stubborn, but . . . all the roads lead back to Goodreads. 😅 I guess I'll enjoy being in denial for a bit more before I admit *gasp* defeat. 🤔
Lady Washizu wrote: "I just made fable book club if you’re interested"Too tired, my friend. I've tried all the relevant socials by now, Twitter was my last adventure. No more places. :)
