Ahhh… the modern self. How does someone define themself? For Taylor, it seems like the Self is mostly defined by the concept of the Good. He praises the “ordinary life” as a hypergood, a centralizing value in all human life, which I find quite refreshing!

This is going to be one beast of a semester. Working through this text until May and somehow each page is still interesting. Taylor’s description of identity, formation, the Good, etc are all so interesting and poignant. I present on Ch. 12 next week wish me luck!
