this book is so excruciating to read every time and I love it

rereading this on a fresh copy (cheap paperback, best for scribbling on w pencil, my writing utensil of choice) and annotating for themes on gender and recontextualizing the female reader and decay and having the time of my LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!

the way Frederick is so aware of Anne the way he takes action and then backs it up with words the way they’re so drawn to each other after eight years!!!!!!! gets me every time
