There's nothing that a good old YA sci-fi/fantasy can't cure. I am having so much fun, and I missed this feeling. The pacing is faster, the rebelious young protagonist is always stupid but admirable, and you don't need to have read 1000 pages to get the basic worldbuilding. It's just what I needed.
