This book is so meandering, with flashes of plot. I really don’t understand the choices Aster makes sometimes

They made such a big deal out of the Sovereign having the only rifle on the ship, only for 20 more to conveniently show up at the last minute. This is the kind of stuff I mean when I say this book is hard to follow. It just kind of feels like it was writtten and then never edited for plot or continuity. So much is just so random.

I’m enjoying this more now that I’ve basically accepted that it’s not gonna make a ton of sense. Also now that it has a plot.

something that feels like a plot is finally happening!

She ran upstairs because of an emergency, then lingered for a shower, haircut, and shoe shine?? I just don’t get the sense of urgency here or anywhere in this book

I am still struggling to follow this book tbh. Unsure what the main plot is supposed to be, since stuff I’ve seen mentioned in the blurb & reviews has not happened yet?? It feels more like it’s just about what it’s like to live in this society than anything else

I’m having a hard time following this tbh. I feel like I’m understanding half of what’s happening. She & her friend just killed a guy, ran away, and then went back to their deck like nothing happened?? Am I missing something??? I’m having a hard time following the logic of these characters choices & wondering why they have so little sense of urgency
