"I hate this" as in "this is terrible" or "I hate this" as in "I hate that this is so good"?

I guess the second one because I feel quite attached to the characters so much so that all their problems are stressing me out! I don’t know if I can take four more books like this I’ll have to take a break and work on the strength of the few.
