Chapter 2 allayed my fears, finally providing meaningful insight on global Financial systems. However, his recognition of MMT followed by an offhanded dig on page 74, shows he does not fully understand the Theory — functional public finance requires the Fed to control inflation (freeing it from the competing objectives of the dual mandate). The evidence he provides from 2022 contradictorily affirms the Theory.
