You’re telling me that one of the kingdoms of the region had a full ethnic cleansing go on and yet the entire ruling body of this other nation was unaware? While random people in the town do??? I am struggling with this book.

I feel silly about harping on this but the carefully selected things that this culture is chill about is cracking me up. Homosexuality? Totes ok, if the prince wants to marry a dude we’ll just find a random woman to bear an heir. Women doctors? Oh hell no, you’ve gone too far. Like fam, if women are lesser creatures how would a lesbian household be taken seriously in this world???

So we’ve got gay marriage in this fantasy world but sexism to the level of barring women from training for specific professions is still a thing
