Well, the love interest in this book is a selfish jerk, but it’s not a bad book. Contrary to what everyone believes, I don’t think Julia Quinn necessarily wants us to like her male characters. I think she is portraying love stories that exist, the ones we get caught up in and try to make sense of when they cannot be made better. Maybe that’s why his name is Kensworthy because he is not worthy at all.
