Being out is scary, but if someone doesn't accept you, they probably weren't someone you wanted in your life anyway.
And coming out is scary, but not evil or certain doom. No matter how much your brain psyches you out about it, there will be people who will love and support you.

Bro these books write queerness and coming out so beautifully. It's scary no matter who it is, but the writing doesn't tragedize queerness. And I also enjoy how all the characters are fully grown men who still struggle with it. I find it refreshing considering how much queer media is about teenagers and "coming of age".
It's also refreshing and oddly comforting knowing Troy didn't have any wild gay teenage years.
