I'm very, very late to the experience of reading this book, but I'm glad I picked it up because I've been riding a run of reading retellings of well known tales from different sources. (And I'm pushing myself to finish this and "As I Descended" by Robin Talley.)

Coming back to this makes me realize how much I loved (and missed) Sarah McCarry's prose. This feels easier to move through compared to the first book so we'll see what happens.
