I need your thoughts!

I am almost there with the main story but I have a flu-like cold so I am reading much more slowly than I would like. I have made it past the part at the cottage. I need to think about the series as a whole, but I am perhaps sensing that this volume was all about tying a neat bow on the many arcs. Characterization feels a little flat and depends on the roundness that was created earlier on. What are your thoughts?
