There’s a character limit so this post is a bit squished and makes no sense, but generative ai is not the same as normal ai in the forms we’ve had in computers, videogames etc.
Environmental impacts are catastrophic even compared to planes and phones: low income communities targeted by the data centres and it’s making people sick.
Reach out to indie authors and let them know. “Generative” is not the right word as it cannot generate anything- it steals directly from other sources, meaning real artwork is stolen and credited.
Writers on many writing platforms are having their writing non-consensually scraped to train ai models. This is theft!!
