The prose is very difficult to read, but so far it’s fairly understandable. It seems like it’s just been a description of the French and Indian War, and eventually I expect it will actually get to the story.

This is a pretty tough read. More than a few times I’ve had to look up words in order to understand what the sentence is trying to say. Apparently they’ve picked up a wandering singer, who’s now lost his horse, as well as meeting Hawkeye and the Mohicans. I feel like this book will have a lot of characters in it.
