Malazan series is the craziest writing style I have ever seen, but it works. It makes me think about game of Thrones with the multiple characters and plot lines. It’s NOT a series for those new to fantasy, or those who want a casual read. You have to follow every event and there is a lot of guessing and mystery going on, but that is what makes it amazing!
