the protagonist is so worried about whether her cow gets lonely at night. Meanwhile, she fully convinces herself that she's happier without other people... Despite always fantasizing "if xyz had happened differently, this other person might have been her with me." I'm going to have a ton of fun reading up on people's interpretations of her when I'm done.

Trapped alone on the other side of an impenetrable wall, everyone else in the world is seemingly dead, but the thing that makes her most anxious is that something bad could happen to the animals shes responsible for. shes just like me

me when the dog is introduced: "the dog is going to die"

only for it to get confirmed twice in the first 50 pages that the dog has, in fact, died by the time the narrator starts writing down her experience.
