I never liked history until my adult years. Now, I wanna know who and why and how all things came about. This biography of the black count and how biracial citizens in France was the beesknees until... it wasn't. Fascinating to learn how respect, citizenship even social acceptance was striped away all because folks were threatened that their stature was becoming commonplace. Same backwards ideas happening now.
