This was a fun twisty turny little ride. We had high-stakes trials, a healthy dose of romance, a fun magic system, murders, tragic backstory’s and surprises galore. Also vampires (and the occasional werewolf). Thoroughly enjoyable as a vibes read and will definitely pick up book two. 4⭐️

Every time I think I have a handle on the plot something else happens (positive). This book has been a vibey little surprise so far and I’m very happy with my choices.

I’m fairly sure I got this on a daily deal, but an author that I like has given it a great review so I’m keeping my fingers crossed for a pleasant surprise. I do love trials so we’re already off to a good start.
