oh my gosh I LOVE THIS BOOK. seriously it’s amazing. Doris had an epic spy moment where she was trying to get approval from Alice for different things while Alice was in jail and she had to sneak onto the grounds to speak to her from a hospital window. What crazy brave women!

“It seems to me, gentlemen, that it is time for us to learn that woman is neither a slave nor an angel, but a human being, entitled to be treated with ordinary common sense in the adjustment of human affairs.”

I’m already in love with Doris Stevens’ narration style.

So far, I have laughed about a dozen times from her witty comments.

Most recent laugh: “it was men’s business to keep the nation out of war. Men never had shown marked skill at keeping nations out of war in the history of the world. But never mind! Logic must not be pressed too hard upon the ‘reasoning’ sex.” Pg 30
