rebellion, imperialism, corruption, idealism vs pragmatism

only issue so far is my complaint for most male authors, lack of female leads. i can understand the historical context of patriarchy and the chinese history inspo but *sigh* i’d still like to see a woman be more than the supportive role to her husband. it is a fantasy novel is it not?

i revise my statement about the commentary on women! still would like more female characters, but the discourse around women was refreshing!

“By custom, we wheeled the sword and wear the armor, but who among you does not know a mother, sister, daughter, friend, who exceeds you encourage and fortitude? so let us no more think of being compared to women as an insult.”

clock itttt
