During the last chapter, right after Irene escaped the maze and made it back to one of the Blackwood Academy buildings, she mentioned that the building was different (decor, stair placement, etc). She also said it smelled SWEET, like sugar was floating in the air. Overly sweet smells are associated with magical illusions. Could she (and the other contestants) be trapped in an illusion from this point forward?
