I don’t know much about the “Oakies” or the history around this time but it feels similar to what is happening in the United States currently. I was very invested in the characters, even made me cry a little!

I loved this one … hard as it was to endure. Reading this led me to take on The Grapes of Wrath that was long on my bucket list…
