I know most people stay away from stories like this because it's painful and terrible and god-awful. That's the exact reason I read them. I feel like it's my job. I feel like if someone doesn't keep the story alive, it could happen again. The stories of these people deserve to be heard and remembered. This may also be the reason behind my obtaining a degree in history.
