I think the magic system in this book is so complicated and the author is doing a great job describing and explaining it all. But it’s kinda losing me because I have to focus really hard to remember things. That’s bound to happen with such a complex book though. Also I don’t love the main character that much.

Ngl this book is kinda dragging and it’s spending a LOT of time on world building and not really on the plot so I’m kinda bored and not super excited to read on

So far so good. It’s a little slow for my liking but I think the story line has a lot of potential. She’s passed the first trial and now is starting classes. We like the forced engagement vibe with the prince. And I think she’s going to get into the house with two spots.

Okay so the magic system is cards. She has been illegally making cards and that’s why she’s locked up. Now she escaped from the prison because she was to be executed but first through magic she confessed her sister was also in on it. Her mother was supposedly murdered. So she’s looking for answers / revenge. And now she’s been caught escaping?
