Ahh yes there is the familial rage I was expecting on behalf of the FMC. If there’s anything this author can draw out it’s the immediate rage of dealing with brown parents and their expectations.

This is what I hadn’t realized I had been missing in the fake dating trope. Fake dating, not for convenience, but to make a (trash) ex jealous. Because that moment of them meeting is always fantastic.
