Ryka Aoki's "Sakura, Ayame, and a Cotton Judogi" is an absolutely stunning analysis of how the marriage equality movement completely ignored and even abandoned queer folk who don't define their queerness by a desire to marry, especially queer abuse survivors and trans women. I'd highly recommend this book for that essay alone.
