it always starts with the parents.

“why would you want to keep anything from this life?” sobbing. i can feel her daughter’s rage to my bones.

the strength and courage this woman had in the immediate aftermath goes beyond my comprehension. the way she still had a motherly instinct to protect her children. i just can’t even begin to fathom the pain, the trauma and the horror.

“that’s you in the photograph.” god this poor fucking woman.
