It took me a good thirty pages to realize that Faha is in reference to county Kerry. Now that I understand the true setting of Noel’s story, I’m suddenly sick for Killarney and the Ring of Kerry even though it’s been well over a decade since I’ve seen it with my own eyes. The imagery in this novel is too accurate. My memories of this place mirror what I’m reading on a page. Miraculous.
