Keeps getting better and better, i can kind of sense some of whats going to come next as i read. Now ive just been reading about the full evolution from ska - rocksteady - roots - reggae - dubwise - dancehall.
Also read a lot more about various factors as to why the music developed as it did!

So good, super interesting learning about Ras Tafari and Ethiopian culture. Really cool to see how synonymous the direction of musical development in Jamaica is with the Religous and Spiritual direction of the Rastas. Really loved the tunes "Oh Carolina" by The folk Brothers / Prince Buster and "Lollipop Girl" by Derrick Harriot (produced by Duke Reid on his Trojan record label.)

My favorite book ive read so far, spot on in terms of everything. Getting a full grip of relations between operators and artists in Jamaica at the time, as well as a full fleshed understanding of how Ska, Roots, Regge and Dub came forth.
