the section about selling their books was INSANE and so eye opening to the publishing industry

I am slightly disconnected here and it could be the non linear style in which this is told. I think Akwaeke is an excellent storyteller and I'd love to sit with them and chat but I am not sure I am getting what I want from this book, but I will continue to see what happens

I wish I read freshwater first, I think this is good I'm just having a hard time connecting to some elements bc I cannot relate but that's part of the joy of reading, learning new perspectives
