A more challenging (though enjoyable!) read aloud that requires pausing & explaining. I’m having the kids copy a few sentence summary after each chapter. The little two just listen. Big 3 have differientated sentences. Leads to great discussion on character formation and the drastic differences between the Greek pantheon of gods/goddesses and the one true God.

✏️Kids are 10, 9, 7.5, & twin 5.5 year olds

Started Part II this week. Definitely a book you need to discuss and recap every chapter. I wouldn’t suggest an elementary child read this book alone for there are so many characters and events to remember. But very enjoyable as a read aloud with the family. Great discussion about character and morality
