The introduction to biological phenomena through metaphorical means and the referral to cases leads me to have a sense of accelerated learning while some of the complexity of notes and theoretical models which are soon after dismissed make me question whether a more succinct explanation or its respective more advanced state-of-the-science version would not have presented more efficient paths to understanding.

Appendix 1 inspires to learn all about neuroscience, a field that has attracted me for many a year. As of now, Sapolsky’s work is arguably one of the most densely educative books I read as the author appears knowledgeable both in his field as in the art of knowledge transfer itself. Further, the introduction also gave perspective on the interconnectivity of diverse scientific fields concerning the topic on hand.
