In my view, Dex’s transition from a stable gardening job to a successful nomadic tea monk highlights a relatable human search for purpose. I felt sad when Dex had to go through the physical pain of being a tea monk initially to have more customers. I feel like the book will progress a lot faster in the upcoming chapter, as the robot will show up and I am so excited for that.

In the first chapter of A Psalm for the Wild-Built, Dex, a monk in a city, decides to travel to villages to listen to crickets. Their travel to nature symbolizes the busyness and chaos of cities. By moving out to the wild, Dex might experience another side of Panga and could be introduced to a new surrounding. Later in the book, I think Dex will be surprised by the contrast from their city to nature after moving out.
