I find that a lot of moments are lacking criticism that should be warranted. Discussing Eugenie’s love of Asian art procured on the back of the opium trade and war with little acknowledgment before jumping back into the “might of France” feels like a disservice to the real woman. This is more of a “rockstar girl power” portrayal.
