small pet peeve that this book keeps calling Mesopotamia the invention of civilization & having the worlds first cities when Egypt and the Harappan civilization formed independently at around the same time (and probably many others around the world. Like China’s Shang dynasty starts ~1600bce but they had a fully formed writing system so they def had civilization way before too)
