Ch. 7
I am a certified Emily Brent hater. The people are conversing, some are sharing theories and plans of action. It's a pretty fast-paced book, which I'm glad for.

Deadass is this how the book ends? If that's true, and the epilogue doesn't save this, what the hell? I like the play way better, this sucks. What a lackluster, disappointing ending. Maybe I should reserve judgement until I finish reading?

The final two! Their chemistry is fun, I wonder if the book gives them more of an ending than the play. The play left something to be desired in that department, but I liked the fun they had with foreshadowing that the book seems to be missing. I wonder if Agatha Christie ever got up to any murderous activities. Wonder what her backstory is.

I quite like Vera's backstory. I wish all the characters had similar time spent on their history. But then I suppose the book wouldn't be such an easy and fast read. Anyway, things are getting good. We're starting to crescendo!

Ooooh, shit is getting good. The theatrics are very funny in the book. The play didn't portray it so well, at least not to my current understanding of the literature. We as humans are so easily entertained, this is great.

Accusations and suspicions flying. Stockpiling potential murder weapons and locking them away. My least favorite character finally died so that's good. The bath is really warm, whew. Also, hindsight is really killing this read-through since I know the "who" of the "whodunnit".

My favorite character is dead, darn it. They're all just sort of pointing fingers right now. Kind of boring... but maybe that's because I know what will happen. Oh well. Reading this in a warm bath by candlelight, drinking rosé, and enjoying moody instrumental music. This is life.

Honestly, not much happened. They're just talking amongst themselves about who they think the killer is. Yawn.

The first "whodunnit" session on Soldier Island. Eight had become seven. Instead of inspecting a rogue assailant, they are convinced to consider the fact it's one of them perpetrating this crime.

Exploring the island, looking for the killer. I continue to feel terrible for Rogers. MacArthur also makes me feel bad. Ms. Brent still sucks.

Poor Rogers, man. He's the one character I feel most awful for this entire story. People are noticing that the motorboat did not return to Soldier Island as expected in the morning.
