John Raynor is finished
In chapter 8 of A Psalm for the Wild Built felt like a perfect finish. It seemed like Becky Chambers was suggesting that something can matter even if it isn't something that will stick around forever. Mosscap saying its okay to be meaningless genuinely stuck with me. The closing moments with tea and crickets felt calm and relaxing. Dex could feel free.

The author shows that not knowing your direction in life isn't failing. Even though Dez experiences each day as tiring and repetitive, Mosscap's questions show that people don't always need a clear purpose to matter. Dex still senses an emptiness, even after achieving the life they wanted. The story presents normal human feelings and suggest that simply being alive has a worth.

I was constantly thinking about the water tank scene from Chapter 5. Dex does not want Mosscap to carry it, and I believe that Becky Chambers added this to show how it is difficult to forget seeing robots as just objects. It is tough because they haven't been around for so long. Becky Chambers also makes Mosscap to be built for the wild and it is awesome to see that a robot isn't immortal.

I really enjoyed learning about how the robots have been living. Robots don't eat or need to go in a house. Mosscap, is the robot that Dex has met and explained a lot to they. "Splendid Speckled Mosscap" is the robots full name and I believe the author chose that name because of mushrooms being fungi out in the wild and that is what people think of the robots. I think Dex and Mosscap will help bring the robots back.

A village named Inkthorn is shown as a place where houses look very alike but still have slight differences. The homes are shown off to represent how the person who lives there is. Trees also have the same traits but all still have slight differences. I feel the author is really showing us that it is very important to value wealth and unity. I believe we can all relate to this book as humans.

In "A Psalm for the Wild Built" what has interested me the most so far is "The City" everyone calls perfect and amazing. It has this peaceful and calm setting rather than dark and disturbing. Dex's decision to leave is shocking to me though. In the future I believe Dex will run into a companion and they will make life better for each other.
