He leaned back against the seat and watched outside. He tried to think how he would explain it to Molly. It was like sitting in a theater and watching a dark film. Like being carried through a black-and-white dream, tugged along on a subconscious current. He had control over exactly nothing. He could watch, or he could close his eyes. Those were the only choices. And if he closed his eyes, it would all happen anyway.
