The first chapter holds an interesting idea. One that I would probably make for a character. The writing style was boring to me, though, or maybe the setting. It was a good first chapter. it just didn't hook me. It's probably because it's not epic fantasy and indtead is low fantasy (modern fantasy?). Im going to keep reading still.
