I’m struggling with this one. I shouldn’t have read Blood Memory first. I should have let this book teach me how awful we were to the buffalo on its own. As it stands, it’s so miserable in pieces to watch the callousness all over again. If I move out West and start working in buffalo conservation, blame these books.

I read Blood Memory as “homework” for this book, and now I am very much thinking this book is going to end up being a “Good for him!!/ As he should!” situation as opposed to a horror novel.
