This is so sad so far. Even though I'm 28% so far, it's sad seeing Cal going through adjusting to a mean cousin and clueless adults as guardians. So far, one of the best verse books I've ever read. And the author's story behind the book makes it even more sad. Ugh. Ellen Hopkins, please write more middle school books!
