chapter 3: the frog curse
--- although i can't and doubt will ever relate to a fascination and dread//fear for frogs, I did enjoy this chapter because of the verses accompanying the sketches of the story line. What a nightmare to carry from childhood, indeed.

author's notes
--- here's where Lucia shares the "unedited"/ raw versions of the stories. I kind'a wished she had written and drawn the original versions instead, hehe. Esp. chapter 4 because god-freaking-damn, the edited version scared the hell out of me, but the original story was more unsettling than anything (but okay, I understand the bit about creative decisions). This was a lovely addition to the book still:)

chapter 7: new morning
--- this one is definitely my favorite. Talk about saving the best for last. Hehe. We carry grief as love that we always, always hold on to after the loss of someone important to us. And I relate to this story the most because I lost my own Lola in 2021. It's already been five years, but she's always with me, and I carry her love and the most precious memories of her with me wherever I go.

chapter 6: cult of the two moons
--- waaaaaaaaa. I loved this. I actually love this chapter. As someone who grew up watching all these apocalyptic movies, this story is as scary as it is hopeful. We are only mortals. Memento mori. But I believe we are already saved by our faith in something larger than life.

chapter 2: travel
--- a short but very exhausting and uncertain kind of dream. Anyone who's always travelled far in dreams knows how tiring and scary this feels.

chapter 1: candles
--- the first dream story of this project that gripped me when I first read the twitter thread way back before this graphic novel came to fruition. Finally reading it and looking at the pages in print makes the dream-nightmares feel so real as ever.
